This term we had the privilege of working alongside Missional Generation within the local community of Headingly. We had 50 young people from across Leeds, along with their youth leaders, come to South Parade Baptist Church for a weekend of fun, games, worship, teaching and most importantly, serving and blessing the local community. The LFIS gang took to leading the main meetings and of course, the after hours games based around the theme of the Winter Olympics!
It was an absolute joy to witness these young people taking risks, stepping out of comfort zones and breaking down barriers of faith. After a morning of brilliant teaching and learning to trust in God, the groups ventured out into the streets of Headingly to litter pick, give school grounds a make over and to pray for personal healing for the local residents. It was incredibly humbling and inspiring to see the young people return and share their stories and highlights of the afternoon! We are certainly very much looking forward to working with Missional Generation on future events and continuing to encourage our young people to seek God and listen to his voice in their daily lives at school, home and in their clubs.
