GSUS Live in Full Force

The GSUS Live Resource Unit is in full force now amongst our Leeds High Schools and we are loving every minute!

It started its journey at Leeds City Academy where the team were able to learn the ropes and get to grips with all things technical. We then had a fabulous first few days with the students at Leeds City Academy who were extremely excited about being the first students to complete the programme on the unit.

We then moved on to Bishop Young Academy in Seacroft. It's our first time doing any kind of Schoolswork here but I think we've certianly made a lasting impression with the GSUS Live Unit. The young people loved following the stories of fear, forgiveness and rejection, with one person saying as they left the unit, 'the stories have taught me that God is bigger than my problems'.

From Bishop Young to one of our well known schools, Abbey Grange, and again, what a hit the unit was! Here, not only were we able to host RS lessons on the unit but we also opened it up at break and lunch times for Christian Union groups. This was in response to a number of students leaving their sessions and saying 'I want to come here everyday!'

After a great week at Abbey Grange, the unit journeyed on to Carr Manor Community School in Meanwood where the fun continues. The young people are loving listening to the new Hillsong tune  'This is Living Now' and we've been having many a sing off during the sessions! The young people are engaging so well with the resource and when we asked one student what their take home message from the unit would be, they replied, ' I learned that Jesus died because he loves us!'

It's amazing to be able to bless our local High Schools with this free resource in conjunction with Counties UK, meaning more of our young people can hear about what Jesus has done for them! Our next stop will be Wetherby High School!
